Review: On the Lip of a Lion by Roy Jenner

This book was given as a gift and once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. It isn’t a book that would have attracted my attention in a shop, as neither the title nor the cover stand out, but the story is as good as it gets.

Set on the streets of Auckland, and I found it believable, familiar and and enjoyable read.

Gripping read, but the ending was a bit weak.  Essentially a goodies vs baddies, and then, right at the end, only a day or so after one of the goodies kills baddy, she wants a baby.

No processing of the momentous events just happened, the court case hasn’t even started, and not discussed until that point.  In my opinion – completely irrelevant to the plot line.

However, the rest of it more than made up for it.  Reasonably believable, with only one or two minor hiccups.  Loved it.
