This book follows on from ‘Know that Bird’ and includes more native birds, particularly those that are becoming more common or being helped to do so. There are not too many Facts and figures, but as in the previous book, points of interest that will help you to recognise the bird, and to want to know more about it.
There are also reminders about taking care of the environment and encouraging more birds. Elizabeth Gabites’ beautiful water-colour illustrations are designed to present the bird as you will see it; e.g. the tui does have glossy colours, but when you see it in your garden it will look black, so it has been painted black. More Birds can be read by children of 8 years and upwards, shared with children of any age, and enjoyed by adults too.
