Description
It starts when she inherits a wool shop in an up and coming village in the South Wairarapa, not far from her home in the Hutt Valley, when her ex-husband, Alex is killed in a car crash.
When Nettie goes to visit the shop, it’s discovered that the original owner disappeared at the same time. Encouraged by her family, Nettie sees the shop as a new beginning.
Before she even starts there is a break in, what is in the shop that is so important? When the previous owner’s husband is found dead at the back door, the police investigation takes a new turn.
Has she made the right decision moving to the village of Thornbury?
With the help of the part time shop worker, Mags, and retired workmate, Bob, they set about finding some answers, only to find themselves embroiled in drug trafficking, money laundering and dodgy dealings in real estate.
Liz B –
This book is great and I really enjoyed it. A quick easy read, likable characters and all set in a familiar village/town which could be anywhere in NZ. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Glenda –
I love cosy mysteries and have read almost all in the Wellington and Upper Hutt libraries. This is as good as all the others, only better as it’s set in NZ rather than the UK or US.
Great characters and familiar places made it a great read. Recommended.
