The story, set in the year 1956 and written from the perspective of several characters, races with fast paced action, across the sub-continent: from the night in Mumbai’s Juhu beach, into the city, then Mán Singh’s escape, inside the, ‘ Deccan Queen, one of India’s great trains; a long chase and series of encounters in the territory of Western Ghats, culminating in the spectacular death of the bandit. The journey back in the great train, where the driver, Charlie Asbury, fights for his life inside the space of the bullet engine.
The final duel between two police inspectors, Marine Drive, ends this epic story that began with betrayal.
